Questions
- What is the VAT rate?
- 15%. That is the standard rate stated in the SARS Budget tax guide for 2026/27. This calculator will not apply a different rate.
- How do you extract VAT?
- VAT is 15/115 of the inclusive amount, rounded to the nearest cent. The exclusive amount is what remains.
- Does this register me for VAT?
- No. Compulsory registration applies above the threshold SARS publishes (R2.3 million of taxable supplies a year in the 2026/27 guide). This page only does the arithmetic.
