CIDR calculator

Enter an IPv4 network in CIDR form. You get the network address, the mask, the usable hosts, and an optional split into smaller subnets.

How to use it

  1. Enter a network such as 10.1.0.0/16.
  2. Read the first and last usable host. A /31 is treated as a point-to-point link. A /32 is one address.
  3. Set a longer prefix to list the subnets. The split stops at 256 networks.

Questions

Does this support IPv6?
No. It is IPv4 only.
Are the results stored?
No.
Why is the host count two less than the size of the block?
The network address and the broadcast address are not usable hosts, except on a /31 or a /32.

An automated client can POST JSON to /api/tools/cidr with cidr. The OpenAPI document is at /api/tools, with a short guide at /llms.txt. Nothing submitted is stored.
