QR code maker
Paste a link or a short note. We draw a QR code and then discard the text. A code is convenient for a printed page. It is not a secret.
How to use it
- Paste a URL, such as a .co.za page, or a note of up to 500 characters.
- Generate the image and scan it with a phone before you print or share it.
- Download the SVG if you need the code in a document.
Questions
- Do you store the text?
- No. It is used to draw the image and then discarded. An anonymous counter may increase by one.
- How much text fits?
- 500 characters. A longer note should be a link to a page, not text packed into the code.
- Can I put a password in the code?
- Anyone who photographs the code can read it. Do not encode a password, a card number or a one-time pin.
An automated client can POST JSON to /api/tools/qr with text. The OpenAPI document is at /api/tools, with a short guide at /llms.txt. Nothing submitted is stored.
